We’re Andrenna Taylor and Alex Cronin — longtime friends and the co-founders of Social Studies KC.

We met over a decade ago as neighbors in the Waldo neighborhood of Kansas City. Though neither of us is a Kansas City native (Alex is from Chicago, Andrenna moved from California), this city became our home.

By day, Alex is a marketing director with experience spanning consumer packaged goods, financial technology, and education technology. Andrenna is an established attorney with a background in healthcare law,and recently made the leap from private to public sector work to expand her impact. 

Our professional paths are different, but our friendship has always been built on the same foundation: deep curiosity, daily voice memos, and wide-ranging conversations about everything from parenting to politics to personal style.

One day, Alex sent Andrenna an Instagram ad for a NYC-based lecture series and said, "I wish this existed in Kansas City." Andrenna replied, "Then let’s build it."

And here we are — creating the kind of social experiences we know Kansas City has an appetite for: smart, unfiltered, and welcoming to anyone who wants to think a little deeper and drink a little better.
